Sheona McDonald

Sheona has produced, directed and written a number of documentary and short dramatic productions, both under her own banner and for other production companies.

Most recently, Sheona had the pleasure of directing  Season II of the popular documentary series Emergency Room: Life and Death at VGH for Knowledge Network & supervising the production of fifty short films for web distribution.

Sheona also directed several episodes of the popular series Love it or List it Vancouver.

She was nominated for a Gemini Award for her writing of Capturing a Short Life; and won a Canadian Screen Award for writing When Dreams Take Flight.

Beyond filmmaking, Sheona has recently taken up trail running. She completed her first 50km in May of 2018 and followed that with a 100km of running and climbing in a 3-day span. She sometimes enjoys the challenge of building websites for friends.

The greatest creative and logistical challenge is the job being a partner to her husband, Jonathan and a parent to their three kids - a teenage daughter and two younger sons.

Sheona is dedicated to diversity, creativity and projects that inspire her to keep going.

Ultimately the goal is to find creative challenges and work on good projects with good people!
